And Porsche reported the testing has a significant progress. The production of 918 Spyder racing car signs the increasing of the presence of powerful fuel-efficient vehicles.

With 4,6 liter V8 internal combustion engine, Porsche 918 Spyder consumes only three liters of fuel per 100 km for producing power of 770 HP. It shows how efficient but powerful of Porsche 918 Spyder Hybrid.

918 Spyder has maximum speed of 325 kph, and 150 kph in electric engine mode. And this hybrid racing car is able to accelerate from 0 to 100 kph in 3 seconds.

The production of Porsche’s plug-in hybrid racing car will begin in September 2013. According greencarreports, 918 Spyder Hybrid uses two electric motors to support it’s fuel engine. One electric motor drives the front wheels, while the other at the driveline working on the rear wheels.

918 Spyder Hybrid comes with a carbon fiber mono-shock suspensions to provide a light weight to the vehicle. The concept of 3 liters of 100 km is applied with programming the electric motor as the driving only at a certain distance.

Porsche 918 Spyder will challenge Ferrari hybrid that will soon be introduced.

"What we do with the 918 Spyder Hybrid is a redefinition of a comfortable driving, fuel-efficient and car performance," said Wolfgang Hatz, Porsche R&D boss.
