For this engine, there are two transmission options, 6-speed manual and automatic. The automatic variant has features of start / stop.

Mitsubishi is also developing a plug-in hybrid technology for 2013. The Hybrid Concept will come with two electric motors that drive each axle (front and rear) that mated with 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine. There are 3 modes of operating the engine, Pure (pure electric motors), Series (electric motor supported by generator) and Parallel (Mix all of the drive system to produce more power for accelerating without moving transmission). Mitsubishi says the system plug-in hybrid EV can reach 800 km with CO2 emissions of 50 g / km.

Russia became the first target market of the 2013 Outlander next summer, following Europe, Japan, Oceania, China and North America.
