2012 Acura NSX, Reincarnation of Legendary 90s Honda Supercar

Acura NSX will not be only about a supercar concept, but are concerned about the fuel efficiency and environmentally friendly (green car), as asserted by the President & CEO of Honda Motor Co., Ltd., Takanobu Ito at the opening of the 2012 NAIAS.

Unlike its predecessor which uses the technology of mid-engine V-10, the latest generation Acura NSX will adopt a new engine that is more environmentally friendly, hybrid sport-new engine technology with the E-SH-AWD (Electric-Super Handling-All Wheel Drive) V-6 with 7 (seven) acceleration. Honda began developing new technologies in Honda of America R & D Center in Ohio.

Latest generation Acura NSX has a length of 4.330 mm, width 1.895 mm, height 1.180 mm, and 2.575 mm axis distance. For the material, Acura NSX using aluminum base material and CRFB (carbonfibre reinforced plastic) so that its weight becomes lighter and make the car a better performance in terms of aerodynamic than its predecessor. There is also a technology Electric Power Steering to produce better handling performance.

Overall design, the model looks very futuristic, both the exterior and interior. Headlights are equipped with narrow LED (Light Emiting Diode) at the front, while at the back there is a thin rear wing that decorate and very different from its predecessor that stands upright.

Until now, Honda is finishing the model of this latest generation Acura NSX, and they will prepare a mass production model within the next 12 to 18 months after being introduced at NAIAS 2012.

At the same event, Honda also introduced two models of Acura concepts, Acura ILX Concept, a compact luxury sedan with hybrid engine that will soon be entering the production phase and will be released as early as the spring of 2012, and the latest generation of Acura RDX SUV Concept which began sold in early 2013.
